Operations
The RAMOTO company is currently concentrating on the diagnostics and repair of automotive and motorcycle cylinder heads, cast iron welding, steel and bronze brazing, welding of aluminium, mazac and magnesium alloys, flame spraying of nickel based alloys, cold repair of cracks in cast iron cylinder heads and blocks, cylinder block and motorcycle cylinder reboring and honing.
Recently acquired new re-surfacing equipment allows to do plunge turning or decking of cylinder head and block surfaces to a high degree of surface finish and accuracy. Truck and tractor cylinder heads up to 1200 mm in length and 350 mm in width and blocks up to 730 mm in height can be re-surfaced.
The company is offering for sale different engine reconditioning tools and materials, such as, NEWAY, FLEX-HONE, TECHNO-WELD, ALUSEAL, etc.
RAMOTO is using technologies, tools and materials mostly from Britain and the US. Line boring of camshaft and crankshaft bearing seats in cylinder heads and blocks is done with an Italian ZANROSSO line boring machine. Another ZANROSSO machine is used to bore different engine rods and gudgeon pin bushes after replacement. Flame powder spraying is carried out using a special British MAC oxy/acetylene torch.
The company has experience in boring and honing operations for cylinders and blocks. We use ZANROSSO and DELAPENA equipment for these operations. Ramoto Ltd. company is the only company that is constantly re-boring and sleeving blind cylinders for historic vehicles. The company is constantly searching for new engine reconditioning techniques and technologies and is educating its staff in the field of engine reconditioning. We regularly run restoration seminars at our new premises.
Valve seats are recut on SERDI and MIRA equipment. We also sometimes use NEWAY valve seat cutters.
RAMOTO Ltd. is the official importer and distributor of various engine reconditioning tools and materials.
We have a wide local customer base including regular customers in Estonia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Britain and Germany.
In 2003 Juris Ramba, Managing Director of RAMOTO Ltd., was issued with a TTQ qualification certificate in cylinder head service after attending cylinder head reconditioning courses in Britain.
